Another picture perfect motocross day in Maine as the 2012 NESC Spring Series drew to a close. Over 300 entries lined up to grab some last race points.
The 207 crew kept the sprinklers going and did a great job keeping the dust down despite some high winds that had EZ-Ups flying.
Next week the Fall series starts at MX338 in Southwick.
Shane Kelleher took home two more championships with wins in the Open A and 30 A classes and was runner up to Josh Clark in the 200+ Pro/Expert class. Shane'll tell you that he's the fastest rider with the worst style, he might be right but he sure gets the job done.

Casey Stewart won the 85cc A class, nice to see a few racers in that class these days. |
Brad Fortini came out on top of the 125 Youth C class after a series long battle with Kyle Bombard and Scott Harrison. |
Not too many racers can say they've won ten NESC championships but Jenn Mead can now that she's wrapped up another Female class title. At MX207 Elicia Vallier was closing in on Jenn but wanting to go out like a champ she held of Vallier to grab two more moto wins.

Gary Lesiczka and Chris Gordon split wins in the 35 and 40 B classes, Gary took the 40 and Chris the 35.
Two championships, two Ironman awards, not bad huh? Dustin Johnson had a good Spring series for sure. |
Jerimiah Ellis won the 30+ B class in front of Brandon George. He was also second in the 200+ Amateur.
Open Novice winner Jordan Fontes scored points at every round. |
Jake Poirier, 85 C champion. |
Brian Hopkins scored three top five finishes in the Amateur classes this Spring, his best was the championship in the 200+ class. |
There are some guys who are over 50 who won't ride the 50+ Open class because it's too fast and if you've watched one of their races you can see why, these guys are still fast. Wayne Benjamino came out on top of the class. |
Reid Ellis took first and second in a couple of the biggest classes this Spring, he won the 125 Youth B and get this he beat 73 other riders to take second in the Open Amateur class. |
Riley Greene switched to the NESC series after spending many years on smaller bikes on the NEMA circuit. He took home the 125 Amateur crown in his first full series. |
Missing four races and giving away a lot of points still couldn't stop David Schumacher from winning the 125 Novice championship on his Suzuki.. |
85 B and Supermini champ Zack Johnson following in his Dad's footsteps, Jimmy Johnson was an NESC amateur champ back in the 80's. |
A first in the 200+ Novice and a second in the Open made for a good spring series for Greg Kern, yet another racer from Cumberland, Rhode Island. |
Chris Gordon's race with Gary Lesiczka came right down to the wire for the 35+ B title, Chris won it by 18 points. |
